Many facets of worship are seen in the expressions of faith of the Psalmists, which can then in turn guide our thinking and feeling and praising.
We continue to survey the diverse perspectives on worship to be seen in the Psalms.
Worship is….
(Psalm 91) . . . finding a sure and lasting refuge under the wings of God.
(Psalm 92) . . . a thankful gladness in the person and working of our faithful God.
(Psalm 93) . . . a wondering joy in the might and majesty of God.
(Psalm 94) . . . a settled confidence in the faithfulness of God in spite of all adversity.
(Psalm 95) . . . joyful and humble reverence before the Lord of creation.
(Psalm 96) . . . declaring God’s praises among all nations.
(Psalm 97) . . . bowing down before and rejoicing in God’s utter majesty.
(Psalm 98) . . . joyously acknowledging the Lord and His salvation.
(Psalm 99) . . . exalting and bowing before our holy God.
(Psalm 100) . . . an exuberant celebration of the greatness and goodness of our Creator.
(Psalm 101) . . . a grateful and settled intent to walk in the ways of the Lord.
(Psalm 102) . . . crying out to God in our distress for deliverance and future blessing.
(Psalm 103) . . . an exultant hymn in praise of the Lord’s steadfast love.
(Psalm 104) . . . blessing the Lord for the wonder of His work in creating and sustaining the world.
(Psalm 105) . . . rejoicing in and retelling God’s past faithful acts.
(Psalm 106) . . . relying on the covenant faithfulness and mercy of God in spite of our fickle walk.
(Psalm 107) . . . calling to the Lord in times of trouble and praising Him for His deliverance.
(Psalm 108) . . . a confident and grateful dependence on the Lord to honor His name and rescue His people.
(Psalm 109) . . . petitioning the Lord for His vindication and honor.
(Psalm 110) . . . bowing before the supremacy of Christ.
(Psalm 111) . . . rejoicing in the Lord’s righteous and faithful works.
(Psalm 112) . . . fearing and trusting the Lord in all of life.
(Psalm 113) . . . exulting in God as the one who alone is worthy of our praise.
(Psalm 114) . . . coming with awe into the presence of the Lord.
(Psalm 115) . . . giving glory to the one true God.
(Psalm 116) . . . calling on the name of the Lord in grateful response to His mercy and deliverance.
(Psalm 117) . . . a call to all nations to praise Him for His steadfast love and faithfulness.
(Psalm 118) . . . a celebration of His steadfast love.
(Psalm 119) . . . a delighting in the Lord because of and through His Word.
(Psalm 120) . . . a trusting cry to God in the midst of hardship.
