About Ron Man

Ron studied music at the University of Maryland (Bachelor of Music in Theory & Composition, 1974; Master of Music in Conducting, 1975). After coming to Christ in March 1975, he did an additional year of conducting study at the State Music Academy in Munich, Germany, then attended Dallas Theological Seminary, receiving a Master of Theology degree in 1982. and later a Doctor of Ministry degree in 2009.

From 1983-88 Ron was on the pastoral staff of the International Chapel in Vienna, Austria. Then from 1988-2000 he served as Pastor of Worship and Music at First Evangelical Church in Memphis, Tennessee, USA. In 2000 Ron joined Greater Europe Mission, moving to Germany where he developed Worship Resources International, a ministry that involves teaching on the biblical and theological foundations of worship in schools and churches, development of online and print resources in English and other languages, and networking worship leaders and teachers. In the past thirty years he has taught in 41 countries in Europe, the Middle East and Asia. In January 2009 he went back on the staff of First Evangelical Church as Pastor of Worship/Missionary in Residence, continuing the ministry of WRI while also being again active in worship planning and leading. Since retiring as Pastor of Worship in 2018, he has continued with his global teaching as Missionary in Residence.

Ron is the author of Proclamation and Praise: Hebrews 2:12 and the Christology of Worship (Wipf & Stock, 2006) and a large legacy work, Let Us Draw Near: Biblical Foundations of Worship (Wipf & Stock, 2023; see letusdrawnear.org); has published both popular and academic articles in such publications as Worship Leader, Creator, Church Musician Today, Reformation and Revival journal, Reformed Worship, and Bibliotheca Sacra; and also produces Worship Notes, a free monthly online newsletter.
